Dimension has water underground everywhere

I have loaded up my old dimension mod that I used to work on, I added some extra things to my unique biome and then discovered that there is water everywhere underneath the ground in caves, even though it should not have water in those caves? Is this due to the caves and cliffs update or am I doing something wrong?
