Portal Does not Teleport me to the new dimension

I Have made a portal for my dimension, but whenever i try to enter it, it doesn't teleport me into it or anywhere, i just stand there in the portal, when i break the frame and reignite the portal while standing inside the frame, I Crash, but if i stand outside of the frame while igniting and try entering again, it doesn't work again.
