Making an automatic item-generating Block

Hello,

 

I am currently trying to make a mod with cookie clicker-like buildings, that generate an item in one slot I have made for the block's GUI.

But I dont know how to make a block generate a certain item per second/ 10 seconds, etc.

I searched for Tutorials or other Forum posts but couldnt find one.

 

Can someone help me?
