How do I make headshots?

Hello, I've been looking all over the internet of how to make headshots. The closest i've been was if i used the band aid mod. But i didn't want to have to use another mod. I've been looking at making an entity riding the player so then if the entity gets hit it will make me damage. But i can't find how to do that, since you cant make mobs ride players. Any help please?
