Need Help, I want my mob (grizzly bear) to pick up and eat an item (raw salmon), like how the Panda does with bamboo

So I am making a mod that adds grizzly bears and black bears. The grizzly Bear is hostile towards players which makes breeding by feeding them raw salmon by hand inconvenient, so I thought that it would be perfect if when I drop raw salmon they would walk over to it pick it up and eat it like how the panda does with bamboo. I can't figure out how to do this and would greatly appreciate help on the matter.
