Tabula Java class model not importing into workspace

Hello, me and my friend have been working on a mod where we prefer complex models, so we use Tabula instead of BlockBench for our entity models. Our mod is on the 1.19.2 version, and my tabula mod is on the most recent version the developer set, 1.16.5. When importing our entity java class models, we are greeted with the error "MCreator detected the model you are importing is not compatible with the current generator." We suspect that this could be due to our modeling software being on a lower version of minecraft than our workspace, but there are mods that are on higher versions who use the same software. If anybody with Tabula and MCreator experience could help us out with this it would be much appreciated. Thanks!
