My doors appear as pink and black checkered block in game.

So I've been trying to make a custom set of doors, but any door that I make have texture issues once in game. I even tried to take the actual minecraft door textures to see if I had made a mistake on my own textures. I go in the blocks and use the Door block base but it doesn't work. Trapdoors are fine. Any fix or should I just not use the door block base at all?
