Needing help make procedures to change sheep's colors.

I have been making new dyes for me and my friends and one thing I never manage to make work is changing sheep colors. I have very little modding experience (As in, its pretty much my only mod ever). I have tried making preocedures where I right click a sheep with the dye and despawn it to spawn a model that has the right color but right clicking the sheep as no effect at all. I will also need to learn how to make it shearable and drop wool when shear then regrow wool when eating grass. But first thing first I have to be able to dye it. If the fix cant be done using the procedures blocks and require coding I might just be unable to do it.
