- 6 new mobs: Bone Grazer, Corrupted Piglin, Ghastmite, Skelebot, Nether Lord, Knight of the Nether.
- 2 new items: Skelebot Arm-Blaster, Fire Gland.
Beta 2
- New features
- 1 new block: Bone Grazer Egg.
- Bone Grazer Eggs hatch when placed, after 5 real-world minutes (6000 ticks).
- 1 new mob: Bone Stalker.
- Bone Stalkers are large flightless birds that race across the Osseous Plains. While Bone Grazers are their natural prey, they will also attack Cows and Mooshrooms due to their similar meat.
- 1 new item: Bottle of Blood.
- 1 new block: Bone Grazer Egg.
- Changes
- Blocks
- Renamed Bloody Netherrack to Bloodstained Netherrack.
- Set the flow strength of Endlava to -1; now it will better fit the flow animation.
- Mobs
- Made several Bone Grazer-related changes;
- Made Bone Grazers hostile towards Skeletons and fearful towards Wither Skeletons. They will also follow players holding Bone Blocks.
- Changed how Bone Grazer breeding works; feeding them Bones or Bone Blocks has a chance to cause the targeted Bone Grazer to drop an egg. The egg can be hatched by placing it on a Bone or Ossified Nylium block and waiting five minutes (6000 ticks).
- Modified the conditions under which Bone Grazers shiver; instead of happening outside their home biome, it now happens when they're not on a Bone or Ossified Nylium block.
- Increased the Bone Grazers' speed-boost when on Bone-related blocks from 3 to 5.
- Lowered the health of Bone Grazers to 5.
- Removed Bone Grazers' tameability, as it caused issues with spawning.
- Doubled the movement speed of Ghastmites, and made it so they no-longer fight back when on low health.
- Increased the Nether Lord's knockback resistance from 0.25 to 3.
- Increased Knight Of The Nether ascension chance from 0.025 to 0.045 and slightly altered the associated chat message.
- Made several Bone Grazer-related changes;
- Biomes
- Set Blood lakes to spawn in the Ossified Plains, and decreased the rarity.
- Blocks
- Other
- Created a mod icon, based on the mod's logo
Beta 3
- New features
- 1 new biome: Frozen Wastes; the first biome recycled from early plans for a Barely-Coherent Biome Mod Nether update.
- 4 new blocks: Frostbitten Netherrack, Snowy Frostbitten Netherrack, Soulsnow, Soul Ice.
- 1 new item: Soulsnowball.
- Soulsnowballs work like standard snowballs, but they deal more damage and slow down any mobs they hit.
- 1 new mob: Shiverling.
- Shiverlings are distant relative of the Bone Stalker, although you wouldn't know it from looking at them. While they are very timid and will run away from anything they view as threatening, this is reversed if they enter a high-temperature environment.
- 1 new block: Activated Soul Sand.
- Activated Soul Sand provides maximum illumination, and can be used as a beacon base.
- 2 new items: Soul Extract, Purified Soul Extract.
- Soul Extract can be obtained by right-clicking a Soul Elemental while holding a bottle. It can then be purified by placing it in a Blast Furnace; doing so takes a long time, but the reward is worth the wait...
- 1 new tool/armour set: Soul.
- Soul tools are the highest-level available in this mod. They are crafted by combining their Netherite counterparts with Purified Soul Extract
- 1 new mob: Soul Elemental.
- Soul Elementals drift through the Soul Sand Valley, powered by the souls contained within them. When they see an enemy, they release smaller versions of themselves, called Soulspawn, that home in and explode.
- 1 new biome: Frozen Wastes; the first biome recycled from early plans for a Barely-Coherent Biome Mod Nether update.
- Changes
- Blocks
- Changed the harvest values for Pale Netherrack to match the other types.
- Items
- Slightly increased the explosive power of Skelebot Arm-Blaster bombs, and made blocks in the blast radius drop, giving it additional utility as a speed-mining tool. The version used by Skelebot enemies is the same as it used to be, as the current version would make them frustrating to fight.
- Biomes
- Changed the Elder Chasm's fog colour from #232323 (dark grey) to #00000B (very dark blue).
- Changed the Ossified Plains' fog and grass colours from #FFFFFF (literally the brightest white a computer can display) to #83393A (a light reddish pink) and #5F2E3C (a dark reddish purple), respectively.
- Blocks
Beta 4
- New features
- 1 new biome: Bloodfly Hive; the second piece of reheated Barely Coherent Biome Mod leftovers.
- 2 new blocks: Bloodfly Nest, Ichor.
- Bloodfly Nests contain Bloodfly Larvae, which can be harvested for their Ichor.
- Ichor is a viscous substance found throughout the Bloodfly Hive, and dropped by the Bloodfly Queen. It can be bottled, and has many uses.
- 5 new mobs: Bloodfly Worker, Bloodfly Soldier, Bloodfly Larva, Bloodfly Queen.
- 2 new blocks: Bloodfly Nest, Ichor.
- 1 new mob: Soul Grazer
- Soul Grazers are an unusual variety of Bone Grazer, created when a Bone Grazer Egg is hatched on Soul Sand, Soul Soil or Activated Soul Sand. They move faster than normal Bone Grazers, and are a lot more aggressive, attacking things that their normal counterparts are afraid of.
- 1 new item: Wither Essence.
- Crafted from a Flask of Ichor and a block of Activated Soul Sand, Wither Essence can be brewed with any potion to craft Wither Potions.
- 1 new potion: Wither.
- 1 new biome: Bloodfly Hive; the second piece of reheated Barely Coherent Biome Mod leftovers.
- Changes
- Blocks
- Renamed Blood to Nether Slime, and changed it from red to green in order to avoid confusion with the new Ichor liquid. Also renamed Bloodstained Netherrack to Red Netherrack.
- Implemented a cheeky little hack that makes stacked Activated Soul Sand look better.
- Mobs
- Gave Bone Grazers a sense of self-preservation (they will now run away from Bone Stalkers).
- Other
- Rearranged all the inventory categories to make slightly more sense.
- Completely reworked how Bone Grazer eggs work; they are now an item that has a random chance of spawning a Bone Grazer. If used on any Soul Sand-related block, it will instead spawn a Soul Grazer.
- Blocks
Beta 5
- New features
- 1 new mob: Frostbeast.
- Frostbeasts are waterbear-like creatures that live in the Frozen Wastes.
- 1 new mob: Frostbeast.
- Changes
- Blocks
- Replaced the top texture of Slime-Covered Enderrack with one that tiles better.
- Made Bloodfly Ichor drop from dead Bloodfly Queens.
- Items
- Made Bone Grazer eggs remove themselves from the player's inventory.
- Biomes
- Actually finished the Bloodfly Hive biome, increasing spawn amounts for Nests, as well as proper implementation of Ichor blocks.
- Blocks
1.0.0
- New features
- 4 new mobs: Plasmatic Ghast, Toxic Ghast, Nethermite, Cyberlord.
- Plasmatic and Toxic Ghasts are smaller than their regular counterparts, and have fewer tentacles. Plasmatic Ghasts shoot burning plasma, while Toxic Ghasts lob balls of venom.
- 12 new blocks: Cut Nether Marble, Polished Nether Marble variants (Stairs, Slab, Pressure Plate, Button, Hidden Door, Hidden Trapdoor), Nether Marble Wall, Nether Marble Roundel, Hidden Nether Marble Trigger, Nether Marble Bricks, Nether Steel.
- 1 new item: Frostbeast Gel.
- 4 new mobs: Plasmatic Ghast, Toxic Ghast, Nethermite, Cyberlord.
- Changes
- Blocks
- Added stonecutting recipes for all Nether Marble variants (with the exception of Skull Switches, buttons, pressure-plates and doors).
- Skull Switches are now craftable! Finally!
- Made the top texture of Bloodfly Nests the same as the sides, so they fit into the rest of the environment better.
- Items
- Altered the spawn-origin of Bone Grazers when spawned from eggs, so they now spawn directly on blocks instead of just the corners.
- Fixed a potential bug involving Bone Grazer eggs.
- Mobs
- Created a unique procedure for the Skelebots’ arm cannons, so they now produce a less-powerful explosion than the player version.
- Completely overhauled the Soul Elemental’s attack to prevent a potential world-breaking bug, and made them explosion-proof.
- Frostbeasts now have proper AI. They also have modified stats, and inflict negative status effects when killed.
- Removed the Nether Lords’ boss status and increased their spawn chances, due to the addition of a new Elder Chasm boss.
- Reduced the number of particles emitted by shivering Soul Grazers.
- Soul Grazers now have a 100% chance of purifying Soul Extract when right-clicked; their spawn chance has been decreased, which should hopefully help balance the change.
- Removed the Corrupted Piglin’s invisibility effect.
- Biomes
- Removed the ambient particle effects from the Elder Chasms.
- Blocks
- Other
- Deleted some unused textures.
- Definitely did not add a top-secret item with a texture that hints at the next update’s theme.
1.1.0
- New features
- Forest of Flesh
- 2 new blocks: Flesh, Cooked Flesh, Forest Bone, Marrow Planks.
- When a fire is set on a Flesh block, it will become cooked. Cooked flesh is inedible to most creatures, with the exception of the creatures that live in the Forest.
- 2 new mobs: Chomper, Spinworm.
- Chompers are literally just mouths on legs. There’s very little else to talk about.
- Spinworms are strange parasites that fly using their helical tails; they also use them to tunnel into the Flesh that makes up their environment.
- 2 new blocks: Flesh, Cooked Flesh, Forest Bone, Marrow Planks.
- Ancient Seabed
- 1 new block: Nether Sand.
- 2 new mobs: Lava Fish, Stoneback.
- 4 new blocks: Enderite-Encrusted Nether Steel, Enderite Ore, Block of Enderite, Nether Marble Pillar.
- Forest of Flesh
- Changes
- Blocks
- Redid the Nether Diamond Ore texture to look a bit nicer.
- Fixed the damage and resistance values for Nether Marble Buttons and Pressure Plates.
- Renamed the Polished Nether Marble Wall to just Nether Marble Wall.
- Items
- Fixed a bug that I thought I’d fixed, but apparently I didn’t set the procedure up properly, anyway now you can’t use Fire Glands to set fire on fire.
- Modified the textures for most Soul tools.
- Blocks
- Other
- Removed the 1.1.0 teaser item.
