Mod wont export but it says it exported

This problem is very simple. When I try to export the mod, the build is sucessful and I get the window for choosing whether or not I want to donate. After hitting either option however, the mod .jar file never downloads and doesn't even ask me where it would be downloaded to. Then the gradle becomes uncancelable (red square does nothing) forever and I have to force quit MCreator. This is despite saying that the action was run sucessfully and saying the gradle is idle. I am using the most recent MCreator version on a mac. What is there to do?
