Topic category: Feature requests and ideas for MCreator
Currently the "Material pack maker" that will generate a new pack of ore, block, tools, armors have a small issue, there is almost no customization, only the factor related to the "iron pack". Thinking about that, would be nice to have features as:
- Instead of power factor hard-coded for iron, we could choose other materials such as netherite, gold, stone, iron, diamond (if possible a custom one).
- Choosing images. The prompt would open a window that would ask for each image to be used in the pack, instead of generating every single one of them and needing to be changed later manually.
- Instead of "Block of <ore>" change the name to "<ore> Block" to keep the consistency like the vanilla minecraft blocks (e.g Diamond Block..)
- Updating crafts for "Ingot Based", in the new version we don't use the ore to ingot directly but we have the "raw block" and "raw drop" from the ore, those are smelted for ingots (2025.2 still uses the ore -> ingot variant).
- Power factor changes ore generation settings (I'm not entirely sure on how does this work today), would be better if we could select the ore generation (height, number of ores in a group, amount of ores per chunk, exactly like the "Generation" tab for blocks) from vanilla ores, like diamond, gold etc..
- Auto-Gen of tags for "Tier Based ores", now with the Mojang rework on the "harvest level" it makes extremely annoying to make new tiers of ores (e.g Diamond required for Netherite or Stone required for Iron), it would be nice to have the "Material Pack" to generate the required tags based on the selected block, so in that way would improve the user experience when dealing with this new tag system. (Optionally making tiers above Netherite would be extremely important like other people mentioned in the Discord).
- "Is tool immune to fire" check box: Allow users to select all the items for a specific tier to be immune to fire instead of manually changing every single one of them.
- Material Pack Name VS "In-game name" : Currently when selecting a name for a Material pack it uses this name for the namespace instead of an actual "in-game name", so when creating a material such as "Improved Netherite" would not be allowed because it is considered a namespace not an actual label for the items, so the user is required to change manually every single item to display the correct name (e.g improved_netherite would require to change to "Improved Netherite" for each single item).
I know that those are really difficult to implement but while talking to a lot of users I noticed that most of them use this feature that is extremely handy but it lacks support for better quality of life changes.
Thank you again Klemen and your team!
