Item texture not displaying

I made a simple food mod with a plant and a food item to emulate the wild grapes from harvest moon: friends of mineral town and while the plant texture shows up, the item texture does not. I also had to remove a creative tab and achievement because they gave me compile errors and I could not make it run minecraft. I'm using version Mcreator version 1.7.10.

I'm assuming you did already

I'm assuming you did already import your textures into mCreator and that you selected your texture during item creation?

That being said, do you know what you named your item?

Is it a pink and black texture or textureless model? (did you use a custom model?)

Did your tab and achievement use the same texture as your item? If so, the texture itself is to blame for the recompile error. (Either it has an incompatible name or a name similar to another texture/file, is an incorrect resolution, or is otherwise corrupt)

If this doesnt send you in the right direction, I'd like to take a look at your console log. When you get a recompile error, it usually tells you exactly what it was that caused the error.

Yes, the achievement and the tab both used the same texture image. I don't remember what the name of the file was offhand but I did check that the resolution was 16 x 16 prior to importing it. I guess I'll tr re-creating what I did before, re-name the file and then go from there. Thanks for your help!

Then it is indeed the texture

Then it is indeed the texture thats giving you the error. If it reproduces the same error, try making the same texture but make copies of the texture with different names (textureone.png, texturetwo.png, etc) import each one individually through the element creation GUI and assign a texture with a different name to each one, just in case there was some kind of error concerning similar file names.

It can be a headache sometimes, but dont give up!
