As long as everything was installed during the initial down load then mcreator should work fine without internet. Could you be more specific with the actual problem?
Yes, When I open mcreator, It shows an error message saying, "Not able to connect to the internet". However, I have the internet active. Do you know what's wrong? Is it an antivirus?

Seeing the amount of people that have the same issue, my guess is that the server Forge downloads its metadata from, is down. It'll soon be fixed or it has been fixed already by the time I post this comment.
OK.. I too am having the same issue... ERROR CODE GRADLE_NO_INTERNET [-21] indicates that the internet connection is needed to complete some tasks.. I have Internet with a very good connection -- I disabled the antivirus AND Firewall before starting the program and still receive this error.
Alot of people are getting this error.. please some addtional instruction on this..
I wish you could edit these posts instead of creating new ones.. Creating a firewall rule for Mcreator does not work and the program itself will not work unless Gradle accesses the Internet ..
It can be firewall problem, but right now, even I can't install MCreator when I am developing it (at the time of posting this - right now I can confirm that servers are overloaded).
The problem is that Minecraft Forge servers can't serve the amount of the requests they are getting right now most likely. Try to use/install it again and if still does not work, try it later when the servers won't be so overwhelmed. I am sorry that this is happening but there is not much I can do about this.
@#13 ... That does sound logical Klemen, however, I did not think that the servers would be that overloaded between 3AM - 5AM.. but could deffently be wrong as it is a weekend too...
I did uninstall and reinstall, each time doing something different... the last time I received a more promising error --- instead of a flat out error I received that theGradle task failed! and MCreator was not able to detect the reason for the error. Please redo your last action..
By this time I was to tired.. will keep working with it.. thank you for your input Klemen.. muchly appreciated!!!

FYI to others...
Actually... I may have found my issue, not 100% sure until I figure how avast is manageing the Window 7 Firewalls..
Even though I turn Avast off the Window 7 Firewalls are still active yet I have not rights to them yet...
