Ores in my mod

I have no idea if this is the right place to write about that.
Please tell me. Thanks.

So I am making a mod that will contain various ores, but I don't know which ores I should pick.
I can pick those that are commonly found in many diffrent mods such as copper or rubies. That's boring and unoriginal.
I could go for those ores that don't exist or rarely used in mods. But then players won't understand it so much.

Please help me decide.
