Custome structure spawning inside the ground

Hey all, a custom tree I made is set to only spawn on grass blocks, and it spawns it just fine, but there are times where it spawns inside the ground. If it's of any help, the custom tree spawns in a custom biome. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
