No you can't make transparent mobs.
It should absolutely be possible. Check the texture to make sure it is a transparent background!
Mobs do not support transparency ChainmailPickaxe.
I’ve done mob transparency before though. In my weapons mod there was a scorpion which used the spider model with transparency. In my friends mod there’s a mob fully transparent. Has something changed since I did this???

They do though, just not in MCreator, you have to custom code it. MoCreatures has mobs that are translucent.
