get more hearts when wearing armour

Hello, I'd like to make armour that gives you extra hearts when worn, but if I put it as a procedure to give the extra hearts effect, for some reason, it gives the hearts but does damage to you so you don't get the 4 hearts. Is their something I'm missing? pls let me know...
