Help With Potion Effects

I Have made a book that when you click a GUI pops up and when you click a button on the GUI you get speed strength and jump boost infinite. But they can drink milk or die and the potion effects go away how do i make it so they stay with the player permanently UNTIL they click another button which gives other powers in the GUI and removes others.
