Changing recipes of items in other mods

Hello!
I'm working on a medieval centered modpack that includes Create. I've found a Create addon that allows for the production of Steel. Alongside that I have a mod called Epic Knights, which is possibly the best medieval armor and weapon mod I've seen. I've gone ahead and removed recipes for all vanilla armor sets, and forced the player to use Epic Knight's armors. HOWEVER, Epic Knight's armors are made via steel, steel is made by smelting iron in a blast furnace. If I'm using the Create addon which adds a new type of furnace to produce steel, I don't want you to be able to produce the steel through the blast furnace. So how would I go about altering the modded steel's recipe?
