Is it possible to make mrcrayfish's gun mod addons?

I really want to make a gun mod for the server I play on, but here's the issue:

On a 1.12.2 server, it will do the ticking entity crash if you shoot an mcreator gun into the unloaded chunks.
However, mrcrayfish's guns work just fine. 
That's why i want to learn how.
