Version Number Invalid

My version formatting is not normal but before 2022.2 on my workspace, when changing my version number I could set it to whatever I like, but now I can't. I'm doing this in packages but you won't know what this means, basically it's my own kind of version formatting so Package (lets take Iris for an example) then Major Minecraft Version (Forge 1.18.2 will turn into 18) then Minor Version (The build version of that generator will turn into .1, .2, .3 and so on until it is time to port to the next version) Currently I have something that looks like 'Iris 18.1' for Forge 1.18.2 Is there any way to bypass this? I have to put 18.1 Iris instead and I don't like it.
