Issue description
Can you add the feature of putting vanilla items in custom creative tabs in your next update?
If you do, you can make it like this: Go into custom tab and there is an option slot for putting the items in, similar to the menu that appears in the procedure creator when you have the yellow "item/block" block.
If it is even possible to do easily, because it might be hard-coded into Minecraft.
Please add it!
I don't think you could do this.
Even if there would be some way to hack this (probably some reflection stuff, not recommended), it would clash with different mods putting in different tabs and make mods potentially incompatible.
