Generation of Custom Block with a direction dependant on which face of stone it spawns

I'm trying to make a mushroom with a custom model that grows out of stone that generates regularly in caves, with a direction depending on the blocks near it, so I used this procedure and this spawning element, but they're not spawning anywhere, my guess is that it's failing everytime and resorting to the else statement where it spawns a stone block instead.

Try checking for cave air…

Try checking for cave air instead, or use the "Is air at x y z" procedure

Tried changing the procedure, working around with the structure settings, also tried copying the block using a structure block again a couple of times, but nothing worked, they're only spawning when i selected first motion blocking block, which is in stone. I think my procedure is incorrect.proc2
