Ability to detect what type of damage a player and or entity is taking?

Ability to detect what type of damage a player and or entity is taking?

I believe the ability to be able to test for what type of damage a player is currently taking would be really useful. It might allow for stuff like armor doing certain things if the entity / player wearing it is hurt by a specific type of damage.
