i am making mods and i think it is good enough but the upvote and the downloads are so low what should I do? I'm even thinking of doing regular updates yet they haven't exceeded 6 downloads even though I posted the second update in one mod.

Make a more colorful design, description!
You can also upload your mod to other sites, such as Planet Minecraft and CurseForge.
When I made a cool and great description and logo, my mod got about 80+ downloads within a week.
Don't release updates immediately after you've added something. Add more and more things to the updates!

Also share your mod page on the internet to get attention and getting MOTW helps quite a bit too ;)
Your advice worked for me! I published it on CurseForge, I paid attention to the visuals and description of my mod page. Increased from 8 downloads to 56. ( Sorry, English is not my native language. )
