Proper editor not an option when editing a custom block

When I try to open the standard editor for a block (The one that lets you edit textures, models, bounding boxes, properties, triggers, generation, etc.) It just gives me the option to either open the java file for the block, or one of three json files. The block is a standard model, doesnt have anything special associated with it. It's just a regular block in every way. Please help me soon, Mcreator won't let me test the mod because the block "Doesn't compile properly" (Usually when i get that error I go into the block and save it and that always fixes it).
