amulet slots

i am trying to make a mod focussing on rpg style gameplay, so i am trying to make amulets to induce special effects on the player.

i want to create slots for the gems to sit and add the affects to the player.

is it possible to make a sort of extra armor slots where only the types of gems can sit?

and if it is possible, how do i do it?

It is possible, but you will need to use capabilities. I will provide a Minecraft forum post that will guide you, but it will take a lot of code.

I still want to make two extra slots in the inventory for a backpack and bags mod, which are equipped in the character, I have almost all 3d models and others, what I need is to make the slots, if you can help me it would be good and I would appreciate it.
