Help with custom model

So i exported my thing i made in block bench but it wont let me use the file for armor as a helmet how can i fix this? As i would like to be able to use this as a custom helmet that works sort of like a visor or glasses. Its an obj file as of rn but block bench does support other ways of exporting the file
