help changing the size of an item

Hi, I'm attempting to make a mod with a bunch of swords (and other sword like weapons) from various fictional series, everything ranging from star wars, anime, doom, halo, zelda, blah blah blah, you get the point. I've made sprites for roughly half of the weapons I plan to add, but I cant figure out how to alter the size of them within MCreator (as a side note, I am doing this on the 1.18.2 snapshot version, due to our modpack being 1.18.1, and we only know how to backport the mod (doing a modpack with friends in a month).) I've looked at a lot of the previous posts on this forum regarding this, and similar topics, but I've ran into issues with them. The first suggestion I found was unlocking the elements, pasting the provided code in, and altering the scale to my liking (if I knew how to link the forum post, I would, but I don't. Is it just as simple as pasting the link?), but when I tried this, the really small Lightsaber I was holding changed (its a 20x20 texture in the space of a 32x32, dont bother asking why) to the infamous purple and black cube. I attempted to do the same with multiple other weapons, and it resulted the same way. I also saw suggestions to use BlockBench, so I downloaded it, but in all honesty, I'm way too stupid to figure it out, at least going in completely blind like I am right now, so I'm not so sure how realistic that route is. I couldn't even figure out how to import the PNG's I made. I would greatly appreciate someone helping me on this, despite this being a smaller mod that I don't plan to release anywhere other than the group of friends I'm doing this modpack with, I would still like this to be as polished as it can be. (I'm sorry if sharing things like contact information is prohibited on the site, no clue if it is, I don't use forums very often, but if someone is willing, I can also provide my discord so you can help me more directly)

1.I honestly don't see a way to do it without using blockbench/or knowing programming, I also had difficulty with BlockBench, try to give it another chance when you get the hang of it you learn very fast

2. To import textures is very simple, click on resources under the mod's elements bar, there will be an iconic written ''import textures''

I don't know if this helped a lot, I think someone here can give you a more precise answer, good luck
