Java Entity Models from Blockbench Can't Really Be Imported, Please Help

Whenever I try to import the model for a new Minecraft mob, it replaces a model that already exists in my resources. The mobs are "sugar aphid" and "abominable froyoman". Although when originally exporting my sugar aphid model from Blockbench I wrote the name as "sugar_aphid.png", when imported to MCreator it calls the model "Modelcustom_model".

When I try to import the Froyoman, despite my naming the model "Abominable Froyoman", MCreator calls my model "Modelcustom_model". Here's the thing: since there can only be one Modelcustom_model, sugar aphid is replaced by Froyoman. And as you can imagine, when I load the game, the aphids look very odd, since their model is now the Froyoman's. I don't know how to solve this issue; please help!

Open up your model, click file then go to project. The reason this issue is happening is because you didn't put anything in model identifier so enter your mobs name in it or something then export your model and you're good!

Hello there,

I think that you had this problem because you haven't change their identify (not the file name).

If you left it empty, it will automatically turn into custom_model. Here is where you need to change too:

Anyway, hope this helps and good luck on your model.

As endcollector and tuonkhung said, change the model name and identifier in Blockbench.

Also, here is a clear explaination to your model's issue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYxj-7MnaUQ   The entire video is very helpful, at 0:50 you will have an explaination of what to type in there and why.
