so I have an ore that is more common than diamonds and spawns at the same y levels as diamonds, but I didn't see it spawn. I turned up how common it was and made it possible to spawn at higher y levels and I could find it easily, just not in deepslate. I have also put deepslate as one of the blocks that the ore can replace
Make sure you make the deepslate variation of your block replaces cooked deepslate, and spawns at lower Y levels
How about this: either duplicate your ore and make it a depilate version, or/and in the Generation section, find:
Blocks this block can replace, click on that, add Depilate, and make sure the y level is below 0, and there you go!
