Topic category: Help with MCreator software
So i wanted to start working on my mod again after i had installed the newest Mcreator version.
It reloaded mod elements and deleted autogenerated code but is still stuck on regenerating code.
It has been loading like this for more than an hour.
I do not know what to do and why it is taking so long.
The mod i was trying to open was for forge 1.19.2 and version 2023.1 so is it like upgrading the mod to the newest versions or something?
Please help since the mod is quite important to me and i would like to be able to open it.
The exact same thing happened to others too they lost all the mod and this happened to me too, I lost the whole mod. Luckily I didn't have much and that's why I didn't make any backups.
One thing I recommend for the future: always make backups. I know this isn't helping, I'm sorry for what happened to you. I don't know if you can somehow recover all the things...
WAIT REALLY CAN I NOT OPEN THE PROJECT ANYMORE
Wait wait wait wait wait. You telling me that the mod wont open at all and i will functionally loose the project.....
Unfortunately I think so, but nothing is said, hoping that someone who knows more will be able to help you.
I think i will be able to go around this. If i can make a new workspace i can just remake the procedure elements and textures for the not many mod elements i have. the main thing in the mod are creatures so well that is good.
This does mess up my schedule though because i was already ready to start finalizing the mod and finishing making it so i gotta redo all of that.:(
It's hard and daunting to do the same things all over again. The unexpected always happens when it shouldn't happen. But one thing I repeat to myself when I happen to lose everything is: "I already know how to do it, and therefore I can do it even better than before. And maybe, just as I'm redoing it I'll be able to look at it from another side and find a better solution than before and maybe have other ideas too". Just today I happened to have to redo a series of procedures three times, but in the end, every time I redone the procedure I somehow found a way to do it better. I hope you too can find better solutions than before, good luck with redoing the mod!
This seems like a bug. You can open a bug report with your workspace attached on GitHub (https://github.com/MCreator/MCreator/issues).
Not reporting bugs while snapshots usually means bugs resolved in the next major release.
Keep in mind snapshots are meant to try out if your workspaces will work with new release and it is up to users to report such problems to make sure their mods will work. Majority has no problems with 2023.2, meaning there are workspace specifics we would fix in pre-releases if you tested the snapshot.
It could also be this: https://mcreator.net/forum/97680/regenerating-code-not-progressing-upda…
It is the Regeneration Code Thing. I actually didnt think about that I needed to Update the Geckolib Plugin. I'll try out if that works and will keep you Updated on what happens.
