Hello, I was during the process of making a Minecraft mod with MCreator when I made a death message, it didn't output in the right way, the translation is all hooked up, but the entity/player name didn't load in, here is an image of what I am trying to explain:
Can someone help me fix this? I am currently using the Minecraft version 1.19.4.

Very very late, but since noone was helping or posted something to help others with the same problem (like me, I spent 5 days searching for a solution), that feature is no longer supported from 1.19.4, try "%1$s" but in 1.19.2 and you'll see it works there
Do custom death messages really not work anymore? I am having the same problem. I already updated the mod i am working on to 1.19.4 . Is there really no other way to implement that???
Having the same issue, I feel like this might be an MCreator bug, as it should be "%1$s"
Same issue. I think this is probably worth making an issue report on Github.
