how to make a berry plant that drops berries

how could i make a plant that works similar to the sweet berries, you can right click it and take the berries out and the texture changes

i made this on my farm mod its pretty easy stuff u can do all with blocks and procedures

create the blocks for each crop grow stage (sappling - grow 1 - grow 2 - adult) for example
make procedures with timers to despawn -> spawn the crops as they grow
create a 'when right-clicked'on the adult crop to give the berries :)
make the mature/adult block despawn and spawn the one before it, done
