How to display variables in the latest version of the overlay

I can no longer display variables in an overlay, which I was able to do in the previous version.

Create a new procedure
Add a string return block (it is the last return block, under "Flow control")
Attach a "Get global variable" block (under "Custom variables")
Go back to the GUI
Create a new text label
Select "Fixed" and then the name of your procedure
Press OK

How do I specify the procedure after specifying "Fixed"?
Also, I am not using GUI but overlay, can I still do it the same way?

This also works with an overlay.

After you have saved your procedure, the word "Fixed" becomes a dropdown menu that you can use to select your procedure.

umm could you maybe send a picture of these blocks, my smoothe brain does not understand it, but i also have the same isue so please help me :(
