Invisible trigger like barrier block

Hello!
I'm making a mod where I'm adding triggers. When you pass through them it does a specific thing.
Now, my problem is, I want the block to be completely invisible, unless you're holding a certain item in creative mod, similar to barrier blocks. I have no idea of how to do that. Can somebody help please?
