You can do this in resource packs and datapacks I believe, but I'd like to add new armor trims and trim materials in my mod.
Armor trims | MCreator
Armor trims | MCreator, the link I replied, is an plugin for MCreator 2024.1 that lets you add custom armor trims. Simply flip the java switch, put in the plugin, and you can create armor trims. Simple. I'm currently recoding 1.21 to add my own armor trims.
Cormike that does not include armor trim materials which is what I want
