The problem is i'm running 1.19.2
and i can't add anything there but mcreator requires it, this creates inability to make smithing recipes
please make it so you only need 2 slots in there

I don't know if it helps or solves the problem, but what if you put an air block? It might count as empty in the game, but then when creating the recipe it counts as having an item there.
No, i can't put anything there, because it is not supported
not even cave or void air?
Have you tried deleting this one and creating it again?

for anyone who wants smithing recipe without having to fill in everything
by creating a smithing recipe like you want if you click ok it will show you that you need to fill all inputs, but what you do now is view the code for it copy all of it and replace the recipe you made with generic recipe like oak planks into wood then edit in custom code and paste in the code you copied, and boom you have glitched it, now you unlock it and everything is fine and even when duplicating or changing the recipe it will work!
