My mod won't work multiplayer

The mod I made isn't working properly on multiplayer. When I try to connect a client to a LAN world, the world doesn't let it on even though the mod runs perfectly fine in single player. I tried looking for other people with the same issue, but they get a different error message after trying to get on the world. Whenever I try, it says "Connection timed out: No further information". Is it the mod that has an issue or the client setup?

If you are using the built-in mcreator minecraft client, than it won't work. You've gotta use the Server.

If you are using your base client with the mod build, then probably smth is wrong with your mod, try debugging it

It could also be a firewall issue, I have run into a lot of cases where firewall blocks online play for Minecraft, so make sure it is set to allow anything that is needed on the internet type you are using.

When I use the mcreator server it works perfectly.

I don't know how to use the firewall, I'm afraid of doing it and ruining it.

I already saw a topic on this forum from a guy who had the same problem as me, but this guy solved it by disabling an option in the workspace.
