Custom armor models not working when exported, they use the default armor model instead.

Hello.
I recently updated my mod from Mcreator 2023.1 Minecraft 1.18.2 to Mcreator 2024.3 Minecraft 1.20.1, since then I have noticed this frankly baffling issue with custom armor models. In the test client every behaves as it should with nothing different or wrong than one would expect. But, when exported and brought into the normal game, the model is replaced with the default armor model for some reason. I tried to export the models again a few different versions of block bench, I tried making new models for new pieces of armor and they all have the same issue. Curiously enough, when I made a new workspace to add the new armor models into for testing (It was the same versions: Mcreator 2024.3 Minecraft 1.20.1) the issue still happens.

If anyone has any information on why this may be happening it would be very appreciated.
Example of the issue in game

EDIT: This happens if you use Optifine for some reason. silly me

Oh, that's weird I wonder why Optifine would break it so much!

Its closed source and has a sketchy start. It breaks a lot of things like origins in 1.16. I just forgot to turn it off while testing :p
