Topic category: Help with MCreator software
It all started when I deleted a player variable that was in use in my procedures. I got a warning, but ignored. After that I deleted all the procedures that used that variable. So that itself should not have caused any issue. But at first, the game would not load at all when I hit the play button. I tried restarting the mod, and tried re-starting Mcreator. This did not fix it.
So tried a second mod. For some reason, when opening the mod, the program stalled while trying to set up the workspace... normally this takes a few seconds. (it is a very small mod). So I exited out of the build process and closed Mcreator
So next I tried to open a different mod. That worked. I was still able to load a different mod into the workspace. But when I hit "play" a small rectangular screen would flash for a millisecond and then it would stop trying to run the game. The gradle status just read idle again.
So now I'm thinking: It's not the mods, Its Mcreator itself!
So I redownload a fresh version of Mcreator (2024.3) which was the same version I was running and had build all my mods in. I chose to clear all cache and history for a totally fresh install... bad choice?
I previously also had geckolib installed and it gave me a warning about needing to install this as well. So I was able to open the preferences screen from the launch screen and get that installed and enabled. Great! Now I can finally run my mods.... NOPE.
None of the mods would run. All of them got this warning:

So then I tried to start a NEW workspace. Surely that will work... NOPE again.
Same error.
Has anyone else managed to screwup their Mcreator as badly as me and if so, did you ever find a fix? I looked through and saw a few folks had done similar things and never found a resolution.

Solution found.
After reinstalling Mcreator again, I made sure to make a NEW workspace as the first thing I did. Then after it had set up all the game files and created the workspace I was able to close the workspace, and now open any of my previous mods.
