Vanilla walls don't connect to custom block

Hi guys!

Walls connect to every vanilla block. They don't to mine custom "stone brick corner slit" block.

The only nuance i see is that my block has .json model base.

Any ideas? Would be grateful.

I think I know the issue. The .json model base might be the bad thing here, and you should maybe try to make the model in blockbench a modded entity so you can make it a .java file. That might fix it.

Tried doing that, but only: "Built-in", .json, and .obj are supported as block models. Don't know how to go around it.
The only thing that worked for now is making the bouding box full 16x16x16 cube. Now walls happily connect to it, although, well, not what i would wish for. Still thinking how to make walls connect with it, while having proper bouding boxes.
