Armor Template **Added Pics for Help!**
Mon, 09/26/2016 - 22:43 (edited)

I want to add some simple "armor" to my mod. By armor I mean, an apron and some sweaters. The sweaters would be just the chest, so do I still need to add both files when I upload it? Meaning, the first file with the chest(sweater) and the second file just blank? Also, how would I make the apron as one piece if it uses both chest and part of the legs to be one?

I made this on NovaSkin and tried to add it to my mod with no success. It showed up really wonky since it's just one file template.

I have googled over and over for some good templates I can just edit in Photoshop but they are all on one page. Plus, I am not sure if the template needs to have a transparent background or if it can be white.

Sorry so rambly...I'm tired but wanted to get this question out before I went to bed. ;)

the template can have

the template can have anybackrounds. The template is the same as in vanilla minecraft. It is two part one is named "example_layer_1" and the other is named "example_layer_2" if you need to get the normal template just go into the minecraft textures folder and find the textures for the armor. then open the file in an image program and edit it as you please. Once you are done click save as, and then save it to your desktop or something. After you have both of the files saved go into your mcreator folder, then into the forge folder, then src\main\resources\assets\minecraft\textures\models\armor. After that add the two texture files and start mcreator.

Ok,this isn't armor, but

Ok,this isn't armor, but along the same lines. I tried making a custom mob using a skin I made on Novaskin.

Pretty much the same thing happened using the Novaskin template.

What it's supposed to look like:

What it ended up looking like:

The template:

Also, when I made the armor using a saved MCreator template, it ended up showing white where the armor ended, instead of skin. I am at a loss. No clue what is going on. :P

@#2 It seems be because of that your skin is for the 1.8+ model with the second layer , but the model needs the old skin template
