Topic category: Help with MCreator software
Hey everyone!
Pretty new to MCreator, and just wanted to know if say, I download the version for 1.10, if it also supports backwards compatibilty to export to say, 1.7.10.
No, there is a specific version of mCreator for that version of minecraft
@#1 Aha... and is there any way to transfer projects between versions?
Yes, some versions of mCreator allow partial importing of older versions to newer versions, but it can be buggy and sometimes requires tweaking and rewriting of the code. As far as I know, it is not possible to downgrade a workspace to an earlier version of mCreator.
@#2 Alright. Thank you.
No problem. My personal tip, just make LOTS of backups in different file formats when using your outdated versions (Export techne files to java, tcn, and other formats etc, backup .obj and .model files when possible, stuff like that) so when you update to a newer version you can still find programs that can convert/port your models so you dont have to always start completely from scratch.
As far as downgrading a project goes, its better to just move on to the newer version of minecraft and mCreator and wait for the rest of the modding world to catch up :/ (if you're playing with other mods that is)
