Help with Texture Import

Hello Folks!

Newb here and I need some help getting started. I am working on some basic placeholder items and I am having trouble getting my 3d model from Maya 2011 to Mcreator. I can get the object okay but the texture doesnt want to import. From what I understand from searching around, Maya tries to export the texture with the mtl file and causes problems for MCreator. I have exported the texture map as a PNG file but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get it into MCreator. Any thoughts on this?

Your gonna want to use Techne to create models.  MCreator doesn't use Maya.  Techne is made specifically for minecraft mode.ling

Hey! thanks for the info. Looking at Techne it seems to be (in honesty) a pretty lacking 3d modeling tool. I can get models from Maya to import nicely but painting them seems to be difficult. After much research I found that MCreator doesn't handle UV mapping. How does one paint an imported OBJ w/o using UV maps??

You might not like Techne, but down the road your gonna have to start using it. Especially for modeling you own entites.  Mcreator, or modding with minecraft in general uses Techne only for models.  And you can get great results with practice and effort.
