Is every minecraft modeler program safe for all minecraft versions?
Sun, 09/03/2017 - 17:35 (edited)

I downloaded MCAnimator (one of the modelers released before the most recent minecraft version, 1.12.1), which is one of the other modelers that aren't mentioned in MCreator, and i wanted to know if any other modelling programs are compatible for the other new minecraft versions. I can't buy Cubik Studio for some reason, so i asked this question because i'm finding a good free minecraft modeler.

I have never used MCAnimator

I have never used MCAnimator but it does not matter when it was released. However, in 1.8 blocks converted from Java file to JSON. Also if the modeler is not mentioned it might not work so I would recommend techne.

If you want to make a mob model, use techne:

The offical version has been shut down but I have uploaded a working version for people to use on my website.

If you want to make a block model use MrCrayFish Modeler.

All of these are free :D

@#2 Well thanks i guess, i used Techne to work on my first model based off a Yo-kai Watch character and it seemed not bad. However, i'm having trouble figuring out working on my first mob in MCreator. :S

So you have created a mob

So you have created a mob model for your first mob. Next is converting it into a Java file then importing the file into Mcreator.

1.Mcreator requires a Java file of the mob so on techne you should go to File>Export as>Java. Save the Java file where you can access it easily.

2. Open up mcreator on create a new element and select mob.

3. Press imporant and find your Java file and import it. You will also need to import a texturemap (texture of the mob).

4. Everything else is staight foward. Customize color of mob egg, name the mob, and more...

Hope this helped you when creating your first mob. If you need any more help you can contact me or anyone else. There are a few people that are willing to support the community in the fourms.
