Anyone know how to make ores generate in an overworld type dimension?

Anyone know how to make ores generate in an overworld type dimension?
on the last page of making the block it says "generate in world" check the box to allow it to generate in the overworld
on the side is a chunk of land
move the circles to determine how deep you find the block
and the two sliders below the check boxes tells you how many ore blocks you find grouped together
