How Do You Make a Hostile Water Mob?

I am making a mod that features lots of new items, mobs, blocks etc. focused around water. I have currently reached a problem with this; I get recompilation errors with using hostile AI with WaterCreature mob type. Is there a solution to making hostile water mobs?

Because water creatures are passive.  You could have it be a passive creatue but have the ai base be a hostile mob I'll try that to see if it works.  Another idea is to make the hostile mob spawn in oceans and rivers.

With the new update, this is possible (I'm not sure if you have already found it out with Davy Jones' Chest?). There are only two mob types: "Mob (hostile)", and "Creature (passive)". Select the Mob type. The water creature selection has moved to the bottom of the page, so check it, and you're done. c:

It isn't ideal yet though. You can't have swimming mobs for instance. They either sink to the ocean floor or float on top.
