Can't access the settings, out of ram

the setup runs out of ram and asks if i want to go into preferences to raise the amount of ram used bu mcreator, but a window pops up stopping me from accsessing the preferences and no matter what i do it just closes mcreator, here's the error log:

is there a way to access the preferences in file explorer?
