DovahCraft

A Vanilla Expansion Mod

(All version updates will be in the comments down below. The only thing that will change from this post is the Current Version.)

Current Version: Version 1.7.1 Beta

If you are not familiar to DovahCraft, this mod offers 16 new Ores to be generated in your new worlds, as well as new Mobs and items. Explore your Minecraft worlds, mine through dungeons and craft your tools with new sets including: Ruby, Cobalt, Titanium and even Emerald.

Additions:

⦁    Added Smithing Table. Vanilla Minecraft Swords, Pickaxes and Axes can now be reforged to become stronger tools, up to +5 per tool. Shovels and Hoes are omitted from this, as they are neither combat oriented nor used for mining any important materials for tools.
⦁    Added Smoker. The Smoker can only smelt raw foods. Appropriate fuels are Coal, Charcoal and Block of Coal.
⦁    Added Gunpowder Ore. Will explode upon mining.
⦁    Added Lithium Ore. Contents are required for Nano Cells and can only be found in the Nazarr Dimension.
⦁    Added Nano Cells and Nano Cores, a very strong fuel capable of lasting for a whole Minecraft hour. Nano Cells are required to craft Nano Cores. Only used for vanilla Furnaces for now.
(72,000 Ticks = 60 real minutes)
⦁    Added Stripped Wood. Currently unavailable until I can find a workaround for Vanilla tool use actions.
⦁    Added Hard Magenta Glass, a block that was not present before due to an oversight.
⦁    Added recipe for Nightstone Brick.

Usage = Displays your current Armor Rating.

 

Changes:

⦁    Buffed Hard Oil's cook time to 30,000 ticks (was 18,000), making Hard Oil the longest natural fuel in the game.
⦁    Changed Reforge Table’s crafting recipe.
⦁    Changed Blessed Apple's Strength effect with Absorption.
⦁    Changed Cobalt Ore's texture.
⦁    Wither Golem can now be hostile. Just don't punch him.
⦁    Changed Nether Gold Sword and Nether Iron Sword textures in preparation of the “Reforge System”.
⦁    Replaced the Sky Dimension with the new Phabos Dimension, a new Nether-Like Dimension, just harder.
⦁    Renamed "Scaffold Block" to simply "Scaffold".
⦁    Renamed all "StoneIron" blocks to "Stiron", a combination of Stone and Iron.
⦁    Renamed "Soggy Brick" to "Pale Brick".
⦁    Renamed "Bricked Iron" to "Biron".
⦁    Renamed "Iron Topped Brick" to "Irbrick".
⦁    Renamed "NightBrick" to "Nightstone Brick".
⦁    Renamed "Fake Redstone Ore" to "Fakestone Ore".
⦁    Ore generation has been altered drastically to compensate for the Reforge System.
⦁    Modified monster spawns.
⦁    Removed Herobrine.

⦁    BUGFIX: Knowledge Book's texture has been fixed. (Internal error)
⦁    Enderium Pickaxe's ability now overrides fall damage to be significantly less.
⦁    Fixed a testing issue with Lithium Ore crashing the game when broken.

⦁    The Reforge System’s tool ranking is reminiscent to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s improvement system, as there are six stages of improvement: Fine, Superior, Exquisite, Flawless, Epic and Legendary.

Very glad to hear! I'm currently working on a simple website to show off new blocks, items and recipes based off of Wix.

I've tried making a Wikia page, but they just kinda irritate me. With Wix, I have prior knowledge of using the platform.
I do agree on some grounds that Wikia is easier to view, much like Minecraft's Gamepedia page, Wix is just easier for me.

The website for DovahCraft is halfway done, however I want to go ahead and share it. Recipes on the site are coming very soon, once I get all the other stuff situated.

Note that there are still some tweaks to be made.

 

The website progress will not hinder DovahCraft's progress. In fact, updates via MCreator will be made first, then the website will update to reflect any changes. And as far as DovahCraft's progress is concerned, I have a pretty beefy list of changes and additions that will be surfacing a public release Monday around 4PM EST! Stay tuned.

Version 1.8, aka "The Big…

Version 1.8, aka "The Big One" contains a lot of exciting changes to DovahCraft! This version is far away from being completed, but allow me to list three new Tool changes coming in Version 1.8:
 

  • Emerald Pickaxe's ability is no longer "Money Wise". New ability is named "Luck O' The Irish". Uses 25 durability upon Right-Click. Grants Luck V to the player. If armor rating is less than or equal to 15, an additional Health Boost effect is added. If armor rating is greater than or equal to 16, an additional Resistance effect is added.
     
  • Reworked Adamantite Pickaxe's "Fire Strider" ability. Amount of Flame particles are now based on player health upon Right-Click. If the player is burning, a Regeneration effect is applied.
     
  • Nether Gold Pickaxe now has two abilities: "Feed the Greed" and "Penny Pincher". "Feed the Greed" uses 75 durability upon Right-Click. Grants the player Haste IV for 30 seconds.
    "Penny Pincher" has a 15% chance of having any block drop a Gold Nugget while mining.

I have a lot more in mind of what I want to do, so please stay tuned. Biome changes, dimension reworks, mob behavior and more are to be expected! Maybe some new blocks or... possibly a new End-Game boss or tool set? We will see. 😉

Hey guys!

So, it's been a little over a month since my last update on DovahCraft. However I am happy to say that the next release of DovahCraft will be a full release! No more beta, yay!

Now, releasing it out of beta will take a little longer, as I am going to specifically look into every element one by one (I have over 1,400 elements... oh no). On top of my real life work schedule, I cannot guestimate a release window.

Two things I can say: 

All tool sets now feature a new tool: The Double Axe, an upgrade on the Axe. Double Axes do more damage at the cost of swing speed and feature different mechanics, such as stripping wood (because I am too daft to get vanilla tools to do what I want). They are also slightly faster than their Axe counterparts.

The other thing is that, Vibranium is no longer end-game. (Don't sue me Marvel)

 

There's a lot to be done as far as progression, balance, and overall gameplay is concerned, so if there are any issues, weird quirks or whatever weird bit is found please let me know. :)

 

Before you ask, no, I did not skip Version 1.8 -- I've done a lot of progress on this current build that it warrants a whole new release status.
